Clarence Bird Park is a 3.55 hectare parcel of parkland and open space located north of Highway 401 in the west section of the City, west of Highway 62, north of Maitland Drive on Hampton Ridge Boulevard.
In 2021 Clarence Bird Park was identified as priority through the Parks and Recreation Master Plan as requiring park improvements for the community. These improvements are made possible through ICIP – Covid-19 Resilience Infrastructure Stream funding..
This project includes the establishment of:
Approximately 700m long medium duty recreational trail loop (gravel) with connections to Hampton Ridge, Scenic & Thurlow Drive(s) and the abutting Hamilton Park, located at 1022 Sidney Street North
Utility services (Hydro, water and sewer)
Utility servicing conduit installation across the pipeline and parking lot for future trail lighting, splash pad and ice rink options
Parking lot expansion (27 parking spaces – 2 handicapped)
Parking Lot entry re-alignment with three way stop at Princeton Place & Hampton Ridge Drive
Extensive tree and shrub planting where permitted and permissible
Work is expected to be completed late November 2021.
